I. WORLD TRADE IN IRON-STEEL (CUSTOMS TARIFF STATISTICAL POSITION 72)

In the year 2013, world iron-steel exports declined by 7.9% relative to the previous year to $ 392.8 billion. As of the year 2013, top five countries in the world iron-steel exports were China, Japan, Germany, South Korea and Russian Federation.
Turkey’s iron-steel exports amounted to $ 9.9 billion, corresponding to 2.5% share in the world iron-steel exports, ranking 15th among 215 countries.

In the same year, world iron-steel imports declined by 7.3% relative to the previous year to $ 403.8 billion. Top importer countries in iron-steel sector were Germany, USA, China, South Korea and Turkey. Among 222 countries, Turkey ranked 5th with her 5% share among the top iron-steel importer countries in the world in the year 2013.
